In the General area, you provide and maintain information that is applicable to all fixed assets in a group.
 

The General area comprises the following fields:

Name

Provide a name for a fixed asset group.

  • It is a required field. If you do not provide the name, you will not be able to save the fixed asset group.

Description

 Enter a description of the fixed asset group.

Fixed asset group number (#) is assigned automatically when you save the newly created fixed asset group based on the selected numerator.

Users with the appropriate permissions can override the auto-generated number and enter it manually.

After overriding the fixed asset group serial number, automated numbering will proceed in the same manner but using the manually set number as a start value.

Note

 Add any extra details regarding the fixed asset group if needed.

Inactive 

Turn on the Inactive option if you want to deactivate a previously active fixed asset group.

If the fixed asset group is inactive, it will not be available for selection or use and will be accessible only on the listing page of the Fixed asset group directory.  

By default, this option is turned off and all newly created fixed asset groups are active. You can select active fixed asset groups from the lists for the Fixed asset group field in various directories in the Fixed assets module.
