Type Properties

Description Availability
Permission The selected permission is used to check user access when we are working with the current type. When there is no selected permission the application default is used. Directory, Document, Report, Journals
Menu The selected menu will be displayed in left sidebar when we are working with instances of the current type. When there is no selected menu the application default is used. Directory, Document, Report, Journal
Sequence The selected sequence will provide automatic generation of serial numbers. (See Sequences for more details) Directory, Document, Report
Categories

Allows you to group types by additional criterion and filter them in a more convenient way. 

Note: A type could belong to several categories.

 For all data types
Tree view kind
  • Not used - default view, no tree
  • Instances only - an instance can have a parent instance of the same type, no folders
  • Only folders have children - an instance/folder can have a parent folder
  • Folders and instances - an entry/folder can have a parent entry/folder
 Directory, Document, Report
Modifies other instances Allows blocks of this type to create and modify other instances. Directory, Document, Report
Report data type Defines scheme (rows, columns, values) and data source for this report. It can not be modified. Custom data source can be provided by defining "Get data leaves" block.  Report
System instances are readonly on applications Forbid modifying for system instances on the application. Directory, Report
